A central Queensland teenager has been charged with possessing child exploitation material which was allegedly found on his computer.

A teenager is accused of having child exploitation material on his computer in central Queensland.

The 18-year-old Mackay man was charged with one count of possessing child exploitation material after detectives searched his home on Thursday night.

He will face Mackay Magistrates Court on August 31.
