Qld teenager critical after scooter crash

A teenage boy is fighting for life in a Brisbane hospital after the scooter he was riding collided with a car in southeast Queensland on Wednesday.

A teenage boy has critical head injuries after his scooter collided with a car in southeast Queensland.

Emergency services were called to Atlantic Drive at Brassall, in Ipswich, about 11.15am on Wednesday following reports of the crash.

The 16-year-old was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane with life-threatening head injuries while a woman in her 40s was treated at the scene for shock.

A hospital spokeswoman told AAP he remained in a critical condition in the intensive care ward.

Police were originally unable to identify the boy, but have since confirmed his identity.
