A two-year-old boy has died in hospital after a concrete wall collapsed on him at a property near Toowoomba.

The toddler was airlifted from Irongate to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane on Tuesday night with serious head injuries.

He died around midday on Wednesday, police said.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is investigating the incident, while police are preparing a report for the coroner.
