An 18-month-old girl has been found safe and well in NSW hours after being taken from a house west of Brisbane.

An 18-month-old girl taken from a house west of Brisbane has been found in NSW.

The toddler was safe and well when she was located by NSW police near Grafton on Tuesday afternoon.

Queensland Police had issued an amber alert in a bid to find the girl who had been taken by a woman, reportedly her mother, from a home at Rosewood, near Ipswich, about 8.30am on Tuesday.

No charges are expected to be laid.
