Qld torture accused denied bail

Four men allegedly physically and sexually abused an 18-year-old man over nine hours at a Southport house party.

A man who with three others is accused of sexually assaulting and torturing a man on the Gold Coast has been denied bail.

The four men allegedly physically and sexually abused an 18-year-old man over nine hours at a Southport house party on Thursday, police say.

The accused males, aged 17 to 20, appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday charged with one count each of torture, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and sexual assault while armed in company.

A 20-year-old man was denied bail, while an 18-year-old man did not apply for bail and is due to return to the court on March 27.

The other two men, aged 17 and 18, are due to apply for bail in court on Tuesday.
