The boyfriend of a Brisbane woman who has died after suffering severe head injuries is refusing to co-operate with police.
Melanie Floyd, 28, was found unconscious in her home in Windsor in Brisbane's inner-north on Wednesday afternoon and was rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition.
Ms Floyd's family on Saturday night decided to turn her life support off after she'd spent three days in intensive care.
Police have been interviewing her family and friends.
Detective Senior Sergeant Damon Mulcahy said officers were yet to speak with Ms Floyd's 24-year-old boyfriend, who was the person who called triple-zero.
"All I can say is we are aware that Melanie has a partner," Sen Sgt Mulcahy said on Sunday.
"He has invoked his legal rights ... and is not currently assisting police."
Sen Sgt Mulcahy said he could not comment on Ms Floyd's injuries, which would be detailed in a post-mortem investigation.
"I can only comment that she was in intensive care for several days, so her injuries were serious and the nature of those injuries are being investigated."
He said detectives had received helpful information by door knocking her neighbours but refused to elaborate.
Sen Sgt Mulcahy said officers were in close contact with Ms Floyd's family.
"Obviously, they're distraught and upset and have been extremely helpful with us, providing us as much information as they can," he said.
Detectives are investigating Ms Floyd's last movements before she was attacked and are appealing for witnesses.
