Quake Canada mine accident

An earthquake may be behind a Canadian mining accident that left two men dead.

Two workers were killed in a mining accident in Canada that could have been caused by an earthquake, the company that owns the site says.

"A fall of ground, preceded by (seismic) activity is believed to have been a factor in the accident," First Nickel said.

The dead men were drillers working for a subcontractor at the Lockerby Mine in northern Ontario.

Following Tuesday's accident, First Nickel suspended operations at the site, where it mines copper and nickel.
