A man and woman are assisting police with an inquiries into the death of a two-year-old girl in Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to a Northgate unit block in Brisbane's north on Thursday afternoon, where they found the toddler unconscious.
It has been reported she suffered significant burns to her legs possibly several days earlier and went into cardiac arrest.
Police say the girl died overnight at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital but couldn't confirm what injuries she had suffered.
Detectives are investigating the death, and a man and woman were assisting with inquiries.
Child Safety Minister Shannon Fentiman wouldn't confirm reports the family was known to the Department of Child Safety.
"As already reported, police are working with the family, who are fully cooperating with the investigation," Ms Fentiman said.
A neighbour said the home was usually very quiet.
"I was quite amazed, because there was no noise and all of a sudden these ambulances were everywhere," she told the Nine Network.
"There is never any sound comes from there, nothing that gave any indication something was wrong".
