If you want to go straight through the Queensland government, Premier Anna Bligh has set up a fund for contributions.

You can donate to the Premier's Disaster Relief appeal online using a credit card
here,
or make a payment via internet banking using these details:

You can call 1800 219 028 to donate, or you can post a cheque or make an online banking payment after clicking here for more info.

Alternatively, you can call Queensland Volunteers on 1800 994 100 to offer tangible support.

The big banks are also getting in on the state government's appeal:

Contributions can be made in person at branches of the Bank of Queensland, The Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, ANZ, NAB, and Suncorp.

Coles, BI-LO and Pick 'n Pay outlets are also in on the act. For more information on the Premier's Fund, click here.

If you want to assist in the ongoing work that the State Emergency Service does in the state, you can boost the ability of volunteers to carry their job out by donating to it.

St Vincent de Paul has launched an appeal to help people on the ground, as has the Red Cross.

You can also donate via the Salvation Army's website, being sure to select 'Australian Disaster Relief' in the drop down options.
