Queensland go slow to halt WA in Shield

Queensland's batsmen have locked in for a draw at 2-168 at stumps on day two of the Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia in Perth.

Queensland's batsmen have locked in for the long haul with a win all but out of reach at stumps on day two of the Sheffield Shield match with Western Australia at the WACA Ground.

After WA declared their first innings at 6-436 following four sessions at the crease, with Cameron Bancroft scoring 171 and Shaun Marsh 95, Queensland have gone through Friday's last two sessions losing just two wickets.

At stumps, the Bulls are 2-168 with Marnus Labuschagne not out 76 and Chris Lynn is with him on 15.

The pair have combined for a 41-run partnership that has taken 109 deliveries, with the Bulls happy to eat up time at the crease, still facing a 268-run deficit.

Matt Renshaw and Charles Hemphrey are the two batsmen dismissed, both for 31 by Michael Hogan and Hilton Cartwright respectively.

Nathan Coulter-Nile bowled 13 overs for 15 runs for WA in his return from injury ahead of flying to South Africa for Australia's T20 World Cup preparation. He will take no further part in the Shield game with Joel Paris to take his place for the last two days.

Earlier, WA started the day on 1-321 but Marsh was dismissed first ball for 95 to miss out on a century.
