Queensland man dies in light plane crash

A man has died in a light plane crash in Queensland.

A 66-year-old man has been killed in a light plane crash in northern Queensland.

Police say the ultra-light aircraft crashed into an airfield on the Captain Cook Highway near Port Douglas on Thursday afternoon.

The pilot was the sole occupant and died at the scene.
