The administration and liquidation costs of Clive Palmer's troubled Queensland Nickel business will be close to $10 million, according to the nickel refiner's administrators.

Administrators FTI Consulting will receive $4.66 million for their work on Queensland Nickel from February 18 to April 22, according to a new report by FTI issued on Tuesday.

A liquidator, should one be appointed as recommended in FTI's report, would likely receive $5.25 million for their work in "pursuing voidable transaction and claims".

Queensland Nickel was placed in voluntary administration on January 18 with debt of around $100 million as nickel prices fell to a 10-year low.
