Queensland have beaten New South Wales 28-24 in the first 2010 State of Origin clash, despite a last-minute comeback from the home side.
The Blues scored a late try to pull the scoreline back to within four points, but the Maroons dominated play at a rain-soaked ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
NSW opened the scoring after Blues forward Anthony Watmough put up a desperate last-play bomb.

But Queensland soon countered, and the Maroons were leading 12-8 by half time.
The rivals will meet again at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane in three weeks, a match NSW will have to win to avoid a fifth straight Origin series defeat.
