Queensland have beaten New South Wales 28-24 in the first 2010 State of Origin clash, despite a last-minute comeback from the home side.

The Blues scored a late try to pull the scoreline back to within four points, but the Maroons dominated play at a rain-soaked ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

NSW opened the scoring after Blues forward Anthony Watmough put up a desperate last-play bomb.
