* The US Congress has welcomed Australia setting up a space agency.

WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTED TO SPIN

The coalition's plan to keep the economy strong is guaranteeing essential services.

WHAT LABOR WANTED TO TALK ABOUT

Malcolm Turnbull was rolled as Liberal leader because of ambition, Newspoll and opportunity.

WHAT THEY SAID

"Whose ambition and which Newspolls are the reason Malcolm Turnbull is no longer prime minister?" - Labor deputy leader Tanya Plibersek.

"I'll tell you what I'm ambitious for - I'm ambitious for the Australian people." - Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

"Food market (is) shrinking to just Woolworths and Coles resulting in margins between farmgate and housewife soaring from 80 per cent to 300 per cent." - the not-so-politically correct Independent MP Bob Katter.
