Rabbitohs snare junior Jennings

Sydney Sydney have signed Robert Jennings, the younger brother of NSW State of Origin speedster Michael, on a two-year NRL deal.

South Sydney have signed Michael Jennings' younger brother Robert until the end of 2018 as they look to overhaul their roster for next NRL season.

The 20-year-old Junior Kangaroos representative agreed to leave Penrith after being offered a two-year deal by the Rabbitohs.

He had been heavily linked with a move to the Rabbitohs this year after it was touted he was set to be exchanged for Chris Grevsmuhl, who departed Redfern for the foot of the mountains mid-season.

After making his NRL debut last year, Jennings faced a future down the Panthers pecking order with players such as Josh Mansour, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Dean Whare and Waqa Blake in front of him.

Like his older brother and NSW representative Michael, Jennings is blessed with pace and speed.

Jennings' older brother George, 23, is also reportedly in coach Michael Maguire's sights.

The Rabbitohs announced the signings of a host of young players on Thursday with highly-fancied centre/second-rower and Australian under-20s rep Tyrell Fuimaono signing from Penrith.

The club has also snared Panthers under-20s centre Braidon Burns and Australian schoolboys representative Connor Tracey from Cronulla.
