Radradra facing uncertain NRL future

Parramatta winger Semi Radradra could play his final NRL game on the weekend as he prepares to answer domestic violence allegations in court next week.

Semi Radradra could be preparing to run out onto an NRL field for the final time in Parramatta's clash with North Queensland on Friday.

The superstar winger's future beyond this weekend is uncertain as he prepares to on Tuesday respond to domestic violence allegations in Parramatta Local Court.

The 24-year-old previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of common assault brought by his former partner before the hearing was adjourned until May 2.

He has been accused of punching his ex-partner during an argument over whether she could visit her mother and he is expected to on Tuesday give evidence.

Should he be found guilty, he could be suspended for the rest of the season by the NRL and his club, a potential move that would spell the premature end of his time in Australian rugby league.

The Fijian-born winger and former Australian Test representative has signed with rugby union club Toulon and will depart for France following the conclusion of the 2017 NRL season.

He was brought to Australia by the Eels in 2012 after being scouted playing for the Fiji Sevens team and quickly proved himself a try-scoring sensation.

He has crossed for 66 tries in 76 appearances for the blue and gold - a strike rate on par or better than Australian league's all-time leading try scorers Kevin Irvine (212 tries from 236 games), Steve Menzies (180 tries from 349 games) and Melbourne fullback Billy Slater (172 tries from 284 games).

It would put Parramatta in a precarious position should they lose one of their best players midway through the season.

The club and CEO Bernie Gurr declined to comment given Radradra's case was still before the court but it seems unlikely they would run to the market place for a replacement.

They have George Jennings, John Folau, Will Smith and under-20s star Greg Leleisiuao waiting in the wings and are not as vulnerable in the three-quarter line as they are in other positions.

Cowboys coach Paul Green said the Eels' left side spear-headed by Radradra represented a danger heading into the clash.

Of Parramatta's 27 tries this year, 12 have been created and scored through their lethal left side of Radradra, Michael Jennings, Corey Norman and Manu Ma'u .

"There's a fair bit of strike out there so we'll have our hands full," Green said.

"Particularly our right edge will need to be on their game."

The Cowboys will give superstar half Johnathan Thurston up until kick off to prove he has recovered from a calf complaint which has kept him out for the last fortnight.

Green said fullback Kalyn Ponga was in no doubt despite suffering a minor ankle problem during training.

STATS THAT MATTER

* North Queensland are conceding the least metres per game (1303m).

* Parramatta are scoring the second least points in the final quarter of matches (18) and have failed to score a point in that period in five of their past six matches.
