Canberra have re-signed the last remaining player to figure in their 2016 NRL fairytale run, locking down back-up hooker Kurt Baptiste until the end of the 2018 season.

The 25-year-old was the only member of the Raiders' first-choice line-up that hadn't owner contract next season but will re-join his teammates for day one of pre-season on Monday.

"It's great to get it organised and I'm really looking forward next two years and grateful for the opportunity the Raiders have given me," Baptiste said.

"This will take me to five years in total with the club and I've really found a home here in Canberra."

The former Brisbane rake said he was content to deputise behind first-choice No.9 Josh Hodgson, arguably the Raiders' best player last season.

Baptiste played just five games when he arrived with Ricky Stuart at the Raiders in 2014, but went on to play 24 in their run to the preliminary final.

His signature means all 17 of the players who fell one game short of a grand final appearance will be on the roster next year.

"Josh is obviously the number one hooker, but I'm looking forward to staying in the side and hopefully being there for round one," Baptiste said.

"I think it really helps having the same group here particularly in the halves.

"Last pre-season we spent a lot of time working on new combinations and this year we can work on improving what we achieved this season," he said.
