Rain has helped firefighters' efforts to dampen a blaze burning out of control in eastern Victoria.
The Genoa-Broome Creek blaze in far eastern Gippsland was started by lightning on Saturday and has burnt more than 2,800 hectares.
About 15mm of rain fell on the blaze overnight, helping 50 firefighters and seven aircraft in the remote and heavily forested countryside.

Dennis Ward, a state duty officer for Victoria's Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE), said the region had heavy fuel loads from regrowth that hadn't been cleared since bushfires in the 1980s.
Community meeting
"A community meeting will be held today for people in that area, just to let them know the latest about the fire," he told AAP.
Townships north and northwest of the blaze that have asked to be aware of it include: Wingan River, Genoa, Mallacoota, Karbethong and Gipsy Point.
Fire crews will build containment lines and start backburning around the blaze on Tuesday.
Mr Ward said it was import for residents to be aware of the fire, even though it's burning in a remote area and not currently threatening any properties.
"Just be aware of the weather and if you're visiting parks, take particular care because the area is very dry," he said.
