The women's semi-finals of the Sydney International will resume on Friday, after rain forced Thursday's play to be postponed.

World No.2 Romanian Simona Halep will continue her clash with Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova on Ken Rosewall Arena on Friday afternoon, having led 5-4 in the first set on Thursday night before rain fell again.

Swiss young gun Belinda Bencic will also attempt to come back from 4-0 down in the first set of her semi-final against Puerto Rican qualifier Monica Puig.

Thursday's ongoing rain also forced organisers to reschedule the men's quarter-finals until Friday.
