Heavy rain and high winds have cruelled Australians Ryan Ruffels and Cameron Davis's shots at qualifying for next year's Masters at Augusta.

The pair finished one shot behind Chinese leader Jin Cheng when the fourth round was cancelled due to the inclement weather at the Asia-Pacific Amateur golf championship at Clearwater Bay.

Instead, they will receive an exemption into the final qualifying round for the 2016 British Open at Royal Troon.

Play was suspended with only half of the groups on the course early Sunday. Organizers abandoned play about three hours later.

The pair both finished on 10-under for the tournament, firing identical rounds of 69,64 and 67 in the opening three rounds.
