Ramsay completes HPM acquisition in France

Ramsay Health Care has received regulatory approval for its acquisition of the HPM Group, which operates nine hospitals in Lille, France.

Australian hospitals operator Ramsay Health Care has completed the acquisition of the HPM Group in France for an enterprise value of 169.5 million euros ($A257.7 million).

Enterprise value includes debt.

HPM Group operates nine hospitals in Lille in the north of France.

Ramsay said on Tuesday that it had received regulatory approval for the acquisition, which is now complete.

The HPM Group will be integrated into Ramsay's existing hospitals group in France, Ramsay Generale de Sante Group.

"With this acquisition, Ramsay Generale de Sante's expanded presence in the greater Lille area will now comprise 11 facilities with 2,180 employees, 700 doctors and is expected to treat approximately 160,00 patients per annum," Ramsay said.

Shares in Ramsay Health Care were 52 cents higher at $64.94 at 1319 AEDT.
