Rangers cement top spot on WNBL ladder

Dandenong Rangers continued on their winning ways in round 10 of the WNBL season, beating Perth Lynx to cement their grip on top spot.

Dandenong Rangers have strengthened their grip on top spot on the WNBL ladder with an emphatic road win over Perth Lynx on Sunday.

The top-of-the-table clash failed to live up to its blockbuster billing, the second-placed Lynx unable to match the Rangers, who led at every change to score a 92-71 win at the Bendat Basketball Centre.

Stephanie Cumming starred for the visitors with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

The loss dropped Perth to third, Bendigo Spirit replacing them after their 70-55 road win over Sydney Uni Flames.

Dandenong have now won seven games in a row after they opened their round 10 road trip with a 79-64 victory over winless Adelaide Lightning on Friday night.

The Flames split their round 10 fixture after they opened with an 84-73 win over UC Capitals in Canberra on Friday, Sydney Uni captain Leilani Mitchell top scoring with 23 points.

Townsville Fire thumped Melbourne Boomers 93-66 in the remaining match of the round.

Suzy Batkovic did the damage for the Fire with 34 points and 14 rebounds at Townsville Stadium.
