Raptors turn up the heat in Miami

The Toronto Raptors continued their impressive NBA campaign with a tense 106-104 victory over the Miami Heat thanks to Danny Green's clutch three-pointer.

Kawhi Leonard scored 30 points but it was Danny Green's three-pointer with 22.7 seconds left which enabled Toronto to improve the NBA's best record by topping the Miami Heat 106-104.

Green had 18 points and Fred VanVleet added 16 for the Raptors, who survived a wild fourth quarter that saw 13 lead changes and three ties before they enhanced their record to 26-10 on Wednesday.

Miami had three shots on the game's final possession, with Dwyane Wade and Justise Winslow missing three-pointers before Wade had a tip-in that wouldn't fall.

Blake Griffin scored a game-high 23 points and sparked an early second half run as the Detroit Pistons recorded a 106-95 win over the Washington Wizards.

Detroit scored 23 of the first 25 points in the third quarter and turned a one-point deficit into a 77-57 lead before outscoring the Wizards 31-17 in that period.

Washington rallied in the fourth quarter to cut Detroit's lead to three points before a 10-0 run made the game safe for Detroit.

Devin Booker was pivotal as the Phoenix Suns capped a successful road trip with a 122-120 overtime win against the Orlando Magic.

Booker had 35 points, eight assists and seven rebounds before the Suns posted a winning record on a road trip of at least five games for the first time since November 2014.

Indiana's Tyreke Evans came back from missing three games with a bruised knee to score 19 points, one of eight Pacers to post double figures, in a 129-121 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Indiana pulled away toward the end of the third quarter when it went on a 17-10 run, taking a 105-95 lead on Cory Joseph's three-pointer.

The loss ruined a 32-point effort from Kent Bazemore, who was 14-for-25 from the field and matched his career-high.

Derrick Rose had 24 points and eight assists to lift the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 119-94 victory over his former Chicago Bulls teammates.

Rose, the top pick in the 2008 draft, played his first seven seasons in Chicago and was named the NBA's most valuable player in 2011.

Later in the fourth quarter, the United Center crowd graciously started chanting, "MVP... MVP... MVP..." when Rose stepped to the foul line to complete a three-point play.
