Bluff Knoll, in WA's Great Southern region, has had a small fall of snow, prompting a group of friends to build a snowman.

Snow doesn't fall very often in Western Australia, so when it does, it's a rare opportunity to build a snowman.

That is exactly what Brock Ramsay, Emma Wellstead, William Bungey and Lachlan McFarlane did on Sunday morning at Bluff Knoll, in WA's Great Southern region, when a light dusting of snow fell on the peak of the Stirling Ranges.

Bluff Knoll is more than one kilometre above sea level.

The Bureau of Meteorology says snow falls, on average, about once a year in WA.
