Reaction to an EU court adviser's non-binding advice that Britain could unilaterally reverse Brexit.
"Every effort is being made on both sides of the Channel to stop Brexit," prominent 'Leave' campaigner Nigel Farage said after the European Court of Justice (ECJ) statement.
"Fantastic news!" said the Liberal Democrat party's Brexit spokesman, Tom Brake, a leading campaigner against Brexit.
"If the recommendation is confirmed, there is now a simple way to #StopBrexit after a successful #PeoplesVote," Brake tweeted.
"This is a huge win for us... and confirms what we have been hoping for: that the UK can indeed change its mind on Brexit and revoke Article 50, unilaterally," said co-litigant Alyn Smith, a Scottish National Party member of the European Parliament.
"We now have a roadmap out of the Brexit shambles," Smith said in a statement.
Lawmaker Dominic Grieve, a leading pro-EU rebel in Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative party, said the opinion was "clearly significant."
Labour MEP Catherine Stihler described it as a "landmark opinion" from the ECJ's Advocate General.
"He has made clear that the UK can stop the ticking clock of Brexit before it is too late.
"If judges accept his opinion, the UK will have the option of halting the process, and will be able to offer the chance to keep the best deal we have as a member of the EU through a People's Vote - rather than choosing between Theresa May's bad deal or a catastrophic no-deal scenario."
