Wham, bam - thank you ma'am.

Despite being told to "pull her head in", Grace Harris has thrashed the WBBL's fastest century to inspire Brisbane Heat's 10-wicket win over Melbourne Stars at the Gabba.

The opener belted an unbeaten 101 off 42 balls as Brisbane cruised to 0-138 in just the 11th over.

Her devastating knock eclipsed Ash Gardner's old mark for the fastest WBBL ton, which was off 47 balls last summer for the Sydney Sixers.

Harris, 25, also becomes the first batter in WBBL history to notch two tons following her 103 against the Sixers in December 2015.

Harris cleared the fence to ice the result and reach triple figures, boosting her boundary tally to a staggering 13 fours and six sixes.

Harris revealed that she was pulled into line by fellow opener Beth Mooney (28 not out) with her century - and victory - in sight.

Harris said Mooney "did all the mathematics" and coached her through the final overs, rotating the strike to ensure she reached triple figures.

"I kind of wanted to finish the game early so I was going for sixes and then Moons told me to pull my head in," Harris said.

"She told me to do it the right way which was finish with a 100.

"That's the only way I got the hundred. I wasn't looking at the scoreboard. I just wanted to win the game."

After the Stars won the toss and made 7-132, Harris came out swinging.

She reached her half century in just 23 balls with 11 fours.

Harris was dropped on 92 by Erin Osborne off Angela Reakes who went for 24 off her sole over.

The crushing victory marked consecutive wins for Brisbane who moved to a 3-2 season tally while the Stars faltered to a 3-3 record.

Earlier, Heat left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen (3-17) and Sammy-Jo Johnson (2-30) restricted the visitors after top scorer Reakes fell for a run-a-ball 30.

South African import Mignon du Preez (23 off 13) hit the Stars' sole six of the innings in the 16th over.
