A black tip reef shark has attacked a snorkeller in Western Australia.
A woman, 60, sustained injuries to her right arm in the attack at Turquoise Bay, south of Exmouth, on Monday afternoon.
The victim was snorkelling 40 metres off shore, a Western Australia Department of Fisheries spokeswoman told AAP.
The track down to Turquoise Bay has been closed until Water Police and Department of Fisheries assess the waters in the morning.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) will fly the woman from Exmouth Hospital to Royal Perth Hospital on Monday night.

"It is not life-threatening so she is in a stable condition," a RFDS spokeswoman said.
The Department of Fisheries Spokeswoman said it looked as though the victim had nerve damage to her arm.
On Saturday a diver reported a shark had bitten part of his fin near Little Island off Hillarys Boat Harbour.
However, the Department of Fisheries was unable to confirm whether it was a shark bite.
The department issued a warning to watergoers on Saturday after white sharks were detected at the Swanbourne, Floreat and Scarborough.
The Department of Fisheries has warned of the increased possibility of encountering sharks off this stretch of coast.
