Opponents of offshore detention are preparing to march in rallies across the country, calling for centres on Manus Island and Nauru to close and for all refugees and asylum seekers to be brought to Australia.

Seven separate "Close the camps, Bring them here" rallies will be held across the nation on Saturday, with a Darwin march scheduled for Sunday and events in London and Tokyo also planned.

Organisers wants all refugees and asylum seekers to be housed in the community while they're processed, and refugees to be given permanent protection in Australia.
