Renae Lawrence granted bail after return

Bali Nine drug smuggler Renae Lawrence has handed herself in to police a day after she returned home to Newcastle after 13 years in an Indonesian prison.

Convicted Bali Nine drug smuggler Renae Lawrence has been granted conditional bail by NSW Police a day after she returned from Indonesia.

The 41-year-old handed herself in to a Newcastle police station on Friday on outstanding warrants relating to an alleged 2005 high-speed stolen car chase with police.

Later that year she was caught at Bali airport with 2.7kg of heroin strapped to her body and jailed for 20 years. She served 13 years after being granted sentence reductions.

The two ringleaders in the smuggling plan, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, were executed in 2015.

Lawrence is expected to appear before the Newcastle Local Court on December 6.
