It didn't take long for new Melbourne Renegades cult hero Brad Hogg to turn his focus to his first encounter against former team Perth Scorchers.
Hogg endeared himself to Renegades fans with two wickets in his side's season-opening win over Sydney Thunder on Thursday night.
The evergreen spinner left the Scorchers amid some acrimony after five BBL campaigns and admitted he can't wait for next Thursday's clash between the sides at Etihad Stadium.
"I'm really looking forward to it ... I had a great five years with the Scorchers," Hogg told reporters.
"We had plenty of success there, you can't take that away, they'll be memories forever and I'm not going to deny that.
"It was a great period in my life but I've turned a corner and I'm with the Renegades now."
Hogg finished with figures of 2-22 from his four overs in the 48-run win over the reigning BBL champions.
His first wicket came in comical circumstances, when Thunder batsmen Ryan Gibson skyed a return catch off a half-track, slow bouncer.
"I saw him coming and just dug it in," Hogg laughed.
"No, it was pretty poor cricket all around. It did (get stuck in my hand). I was just surprised that he danced down the wicket, I was surprised I delivered that ball and I was surprised the ball went straight up in the air.
"I'm pretty sure both of us will have a laugh about that down the track."
The 45-year-old signed a one-season deal with the Renegades but is already eyeing another BBL campaign after his impressive start with his new club.
