Renegades' Satterthwaite out to leave mark

Melbourne Renegades skipper Amy Satterthwaite will fly out of Australia the day after her side's WBBL semi-final against the Sydney Sixers but it hasn't dented her determination to win through.

Satterthwaite and fellow Kiwi Lea Tahuhu will both hop on a plane back to New Zealand on Sunday to link up with the national side ahead of the White Ferns' one-day series against India starting on Thursday.

Even if their side qualify for their first WBBL final, the pair will almost certainly miss the match.

Satterthwaite was philosophical, insisting that anything can happen and she could still return should she not be required by the White Ferns - though that's unlikely given her status as an 113-game veteran of the Kiwi ODI side.

She points to the inclusion of English international Danni Wyatt who was scheduled to return home for a training camp however allowed to stay on for the Renegades' finals campaign.

"To be honest it's kind of irrelevant for us, we've got one game to focus on and it's really important to get that right," Satterthwaite said.

"We don't want to think about what-ifs in different situations.

"We saw with Danny that she was unavailable and we've been fortunate enough to gain her for tomorrow's game so we want to take it one step at a time.

"We definitely leave on Sunday, we go home one way or another. It's just what happens after that."

The Renegades will start as rank outsiders considering 2018-19 is the first time they have finished above the bottom three, are coming up against a red-hot Sydney Sixers outfit seeking their third straight title and lost both of the their regular round matches to the minor premiers.

"Being in our first semi-final we've got nothing to lose, we can go back to zero and express ourselves and play some good cricket like we have throughout the season," Satterthwaite said.

"We're excited and it's new territory for a lot of them and they're pumped to get out there."
