Renegades shock Perth in WBBL

Some late power hitting from Grace Harris has carried the Melbourne Renegades to an upset win over Perth in the Women's Big Bash League.

Grace Harris has smashed 39 off 17 balls to propel the last-placed Melbourne Renegades to an upset five-wicket WBBL victory over the Perth Scorchers on Wednesday.

The Southern Stars batter showed no signs of the shoulder complaint which has stopped her from bowling and throwing as she helped pull off the unlikely victory.

After coming to the crease at 4-68 and requiring 64 from 42 balls, the 23-year-old whacked five fours and two sixes to help set up the win with 11 balls to spare at Melbourne's Camberwell Sports Ground.

Harris was supported by the unbeaten Molly Stranno (13 off seven), while Engand's Danielle Wyatt cruised to 43 from 42 balls before she was run out.

The Scorchers had earlier looked set to jump to second on the ladder after posting 7-131.

Heather Graham hit four boundaries to score 30 from 25 balls, while Suzie Bates (25) Katherine Brunt (26) and Lauren Esbary (20) each chipped in.

Off-spinner Emma King then claimed two early wickets to leave the Renegades reeling, before Harris arrived at the wicket to turn the match on its head.
