Repairs on the run for Syd-Hob yacht

Sydney to Hobart contender Ark323 has suffered boom damage which the crew intend to fix on the way south.

Chinese entry Ark323 will enter Bass Strait trying to complete running repairs to the 15-metre Sydney to Hobart boat.

Competing in just her second race to the southern capital, Ark323 suffered boom damage while passing the NSW far south coast on Tuesday.

Her crew told race officials they intend to push on while fixing the problem.

From the starting fleet of 88 boats, 84 continue racing, with eight-time line honours winner and race record holder Wild Oats XI among the withdrawals due to damage.
