Report card on health risk factors

A new online health tool, Australia's Health Tracker by Area, has localised the state of our nation's health postcode by postcode.

A LOOK AT AUSTRALIA'S HEALTH TRACKER BY AREA:

NUMBER OF OBESE ADULTS (2011-12)

* Australia: 3,947,535 = 27.9 per cent

* QLD has highest rate of obese - 30.4 per 100 people

* VIC has lowest rate of obese - 25.8 per 100 people

NUMBER OF ADULTS WITH HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (2014-15)

* Australia: 4,083,875 = 23 per cent

* TAS has highest rate of people with high blood pressure - 26.5 per 100 people

* WA has lowest rate - 21.2 per 100 people

NUMBER OF RISKY DRINKERS, AGED 15 AND OVER (2014-15)

* Australia: 3,102, 641 = 18.2 per cent

* WA has highest rate of people drinking at 'risky' levels - 19.5 per 100 people

* ACT has lowest rate of risky drinkers - 14.9 per 100 people.

NUMBER OF ADULT SMOKERS (2011-12)

* Australia: 3,059, 237 = 12.8 per cent

* NT has the highest rate of smokers - 22.8 per 100 people

* ACT has the lowest rate of smokers - 13.6 per 100 people
