The NSW Rural Fires Service wants to talk to people about the October bushfires.

The RFS website says it has engaged the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre to conduct community research into the October 2013 bushfires.

The RFS says researchers are conducting face-to-face interviews with people in the Blue Mountains, Port Stephens and the Southern Highlands to compile a report into community preparedness and response, and to assist with improvements to bushfire safety initiatives.

The RFS says an online survey will be published on their website soon or people can register to be interviewed by emailing info@bushfirecrc.com
