Research reveals attitudes to smoking among Indigenous Australians

Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley has launched a series of government-funded research papers investigating attitudes towards smoking, as well as the habit, among Indigenous Australians.

15 studies comprise the selection, covering a sample of 2,500 people.

The federal government has pledged $35.3 million for the next financial year for initiatives to tackle smoking among Aboriginal and Torres Strait people.

Associate Professor David Thomas from Menzies School of Health Research participated in the research, and he's speaking to Brianna Roberts.
