South Sydney halfback Adam Reynolds revealed he needed a painkilling injection to finish their finals loss to Melbourne but is confident of playing in next week's must-win semi-final.
Reynolds was clutching at his shoulder following a heavy tackle by Storm hitman Felise Kaufusi late in the first half on Friday night.
But the former NSW No.7 then rushed from the field moments before halftime after being cleaned up by Storm prop Christian Welch not long after.
Reynolds initially thought he had busted his shoulder but was treated in the dressing rooms during the break and took his place on-field in the second half.
"Kaufisi did it but Christian Welch got me a beauty after that as well. It's a game of football, you cop the bumps and bruises and move on," he said.
"I copped a whack and the shoulder is a bit sore but I got through the second half all right.
"It felt like something happened in there. The doctor said it was alright so I got out there and finished the game."
Asked what treatment he received from the medical staff, Reynolds said: "Just got needled up, not too much other than that."
The 28-year-old was on the end of a number of big collisions with Storm players, including a dangerous shot by winger Josh Addo-Carr that ended in a penalty.
Reynolds admitted it was a dangerous ploy to attack the kickers' legs but stopped short of suggesting the referees should've been more stringent on the shots.
"It becomes dangerous," he said.
"There were a couple of times there I thought it could have gone either way but it's up to the refs to decide. I'm not a ref. They've got a tough job to do. It's a game of footy."
The loss of Reynolds would be a potentially fatal blow to the Rabbitohs' premiership hopes, with back-up playmaker Adam Doueihi out for the year with an ACL injury.
The Rabbitohs also don't have a recognised back-up goalkicker.
However the 28-year-old insisted he would be fit to play their semi-final against the winner of the elimination final between St George Illawarra and Brisbane.
"We've got a good medical staff here. They look after us thoroughly throughout the week and I'll be ready to go next week," Reynolds said.
