Reynolds OK, Tom Burgess out six weeks

Souths halfback Adam Reynolds has overcome a foot injury and will be right for NRL round one, but Tom Burgess is out for six weeks with an ankle problem.

South Sydney's forward depth will be tested early on in the new NRL season with Tom Burgess ruled out of action for the first six weeks due to an ankle injury.

Burgess suffered syndesmosis last weekend in the Rabbitohs' trial win over Gold Coast.

Rabbitohs high performance manager Troy Thompson confirmed on Wednesday the extent of the injury after scans.

However, in better news for Souths, Adam Reynolds will be right for the club's season opener against arch rivals the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium on Sunday March 6 after overcoming a foot injury suffered in the All Stars fixture.

Reynolds did not play against the Titans but has trained with teammates this week.

George Burgess continues to recover from hip surgery. He is suspended for round one but is expected to be fit for the Rabbitohs' round-two encounter.
