Star halfbacks Adam Reynolds, Mitchell Pearce and hooker Andrew McCullough highlight the key returns from injury for round 17 of the NRL.

Reynolds' return from a shoulder injury for South Sydney's trip to Cairns to play North Queensland on Sunday means he will be right for NSW for State of Origin III.

The Rabbitohs playmaker suffered the injury late in NSW's series-losing defeat in game two last week.

Ex-Sydney Roosters skipper Pearce will play just his fourth game of the NRL season against Canterbury on Thursday.

Pearce has missed the last two games due to a calf injury, following his eight game suspension earlier this season due to his Australia Day antics.

Jackson Hastings will partner Pearce in the Roosters halves at Allianz Stadium. Ryan Matterson has been shifted out of the halves and onto an extended bench for the Tricolours.

Struggling Brisbane will welcome back star rake McCullough from a month out with a thumb injury for Friday night's fixture against Melbourne at Suncorp Stadium.

Matt White comes into the Storm 17 for the injured Nelson Asofa-Solomona. Cameron Munster and Blake Green haven't been named for the visitors but might be late inclusions.

Co-captain William Zillman returns from a foot injury for Gold Coast.

In comes in for the injured Nathan Davis as the Titans play the Warriors in Auckland on Saturday.

Robbie Farah returns from concussion to Wests Tigers interchange bench to meet Penrith at ANZ Stadium on Saturday evening.

Semi Radradra has been named for Parramatta's trip to Shark Park to meet competition leaders Cronulla on Saturday night, despite doubts over his NRL future.

Josh King comes onto an extended Knights bench for Sunday's trip to the nation's capital to play Canberra.

Tariq Sims has been named on an extended bench for St George Illawarra for Monday night's match against Manly at Brookvale Oval.

Sims was excluded from playing against his old club Newcastle last weekend due to a clause in his contract after a mid-season switch.
