The Reserve Bank haskept the official cash rate at 4.75% but has clearly opened the door for apotential rate cut.

It's the first time the RBA has publically suggested if may loosen monetary policy if needed.

It comes as new data shows a surprisingly strong building approvals result and better than expected trade surplus.
