Brisbane vice-captain Daniel Rich hopes to be a Lion for life after re-signing with the AFL club for another five years.

The 26-year-old midfielder became the 11th Lion to re-sign since August after inking a deal that will keep him at the rebuilding club until the end of 2021.

"I think it's every AFL player's dream to be a one-club player and now I'm in the position for that to be the case for me," said Rich, who has played 122 games since being drafted in 2009.

"It was a no-brainer."

Apart from the spate of re-signings of the likes of vice-captains Dayne Zorko and Pearce Hanley, Lions coach Justin Leppitsch also extended his contract until the end of 2017 earlier this month.

Brisbane open their season against West Coast in Perth on Sunday.
