Rio 2016: Family and friends cheer on silver medal sailors

Family and friends gathered at the Manly Skiff Club early on Wednesday morning to cheer nacra 17 sailors Lisa Darmanin and Jason Waterhouse on to a silver medal.

The feeling was tense in the Manly Skiff Club early Wednesday morning as family and friends gathered to cheer on Australian sailors Lisa Darmanin and Jason Waterhouse.

The cousins were competing in the medal race of the mixed nacra 17 sailing race, and they did not disappoint their supporters in Manly, bringing home a silver medal.

"We're thrilled for them," Darmanin's mother Sally told SBS News.

"They look really happy which makes us really happy."

Ed Darmanin said: "It's not over till it's over and they've done us proud".
