Individual disappointment, but relay podiums on the last night of swimming
Cate Campbell has finished fifth and sister Bronte seventh in the final of the women's 50 metres freestyle, off the back of a disappointing performance in the 100 metres earlier in the meet.
Cate isn't mincing words in describing her meet, but the sisters are getting support for the way they've publically handled disappointment.
Cate Campbell did swim a good final 100 metres in the women's 4x100 metres medley relay, though.
Australia finished second behind the United States...pipping Denmark to silver by 0.01 seconds.
The men's 4x100 metres medley relay won bronze behind the United States and Great Britain.
It was Michael Phelps' fifth gold medal of these games, and his 23rd, and quite possibly last, overall.
Italian Gregorio Paltrinieri won gold in the men's 1500 metres freestyle. Australian Mack Horton finished fifth.
Overall, Australia won the same amount of medals in swimming this Olympics as the much-maligned London campaign four years ago (10). But there were three golds, four silvers, and three bronzes this time, as opposed to one gold, six silvers, and three bronzes in 2012.
Only the US (33) won more medals in swimming in these Olympics than Australia.
Meares makes history
Anna Meares has won the bronze medal in the women's keirin.
Dutch rider Elis Ligtee won gold, while Great Britain's Rebecca James won silver.
It comes after Meares and Stephanie Morton was narrowly pipped for bronze yesterday in the women's team sprint event.
It's Meares' sixth Olympic medal (two gold, one silver, and now three bronze), which makes her Australia's most successful Olympic cyclist.
She's also the first Australian athlete to win a medal at four consecutive Olympic Games.
Meanwhile, Australia finished fifth in the women's team pursuit.

The world's best-known runner is looking to defend his 100 metres-200 metres-relay treble from both London 2012 and Beijing 2008.
Elsewhere in the track and field, Ethiopian Etenesh Diro finished her heat in the women's steeplechase, despite losing a shoe during the race.
She's qualified for the final on Tuesday (AEST) after lodging a protest.
Australians Genevieve LaCaze and Madeleine Hills have also qualified.

And Matthew Glaetzer will ride off for bronze tomorrow morning (Monday 6:04am AEST) in the men's sprint cycling.
