A man is in hospital after two drivers got into a road rage punch-up on the Sydney Harbour Bridge during peak hour.

Two men, aged 19 and 49, were fighting in the bridge's southbound lanes at about 5.30pm on Tuesday following an earlier road rage incident on the Warringah Freeway, police say.

The younger man was taken to hospital with minor injuries while the older man was taken to Newtown Police Station, but has been released without charge, a NSW police spokeswoman told AAP on Wednesday.
