A statue representing Captain Cook as a robber has won the New South Wales Parliament's Aboriginal Art Prize.

Jason Wing took out the top award with his provocative work called "Australia was Stolen by Armed Robbery".

The combined prize is the biggest in Australia, and is shining a spotlight on contemporary Indigenous issues and art.
