Robbie Williams to be a father again

Singer Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field hare expecting their second child.

Pop star Robbie Williams is to become a father again, he has confirmed on Twitter.

Williams said he and wife Ayda Field are expecting a second child.

The 40-year-old, who lives with his wife and daughter Teddy in Los Angeles, wrote: "Ayda and I are delighted to announce that Theodora Rose Williams is going to be a big sister. RW xxx"

Williams was was once dismissed as the "fat dancer from Take That" by Oasis' Noel Gallagher, but he became one of the biggest stars of British music.

He quit Take That in the mid-1990s and embarked on a solo career which included a mainstay of the karaoke club, Angels.

Williams also battled personal demons - drink and drugs - along the way and often said success had not necessarily led to happiness.

He married Field in the grounds of his Beverly Hills mansion in August 2010.

Their daughter Theodora was born two years later.

And Williams enjoyed a return to the pop charts with his album Swings Both Ways, which soared to the number one spot at the end of last year.

Williams will perform in Australia for the first time in eight years later this year as aprt of his Swing tour.

He will perform in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney from September 11.
