Robots, augmented and virtual reality along with wearable technology could soon be part of the classroom, and will feature at a workshop for 65 Brisbane teachers.
The hands-on 'Weaving Technology into the Fabric of the Classroom' event begins on Wednesday with a focus on the practice of teaching and how emerging technology could be used to improve learning.
"One option is that robotics be taught as part of the curriculum, but what if robotics could be used more directly to support teaching activities in the classroom," said Dr Michael Cowling, from host Central Queensland University.
"Mixed reality technologies, including virtual reality and augmented reality, can enable teachers to create a new blended reality that gives students a seamless digital experience."
The workshop is for both primary and secondary school teachers and will be held in CQ University's campus in central Brisbane.
