Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick to raise his Champions League record tally to 100 goals as holders Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 4-2 in extra-time for a place in the semi-finals where they are joined again by cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid.
Ronaldo scored five goals in the quarter-final tie as Real prevailed 6-3 on aggregate, having won the first game in Munich 2-1 from his double.
"Making six goals against a team like Bayern is not easy and we deserve to move through to the semi-finals," Ronaldo said.
"We played very well, obviously I am very happy to score all three goals, but the team has been great."
The Portugal forward added: "We knew we had to play very well because Bayern can score goals from anywhere on the pitch and proved to be an excellent team, but Real Madrid is Real Madrid.

"In the first half we had many opportunities and we could score a goal or two, also in the second half too.
"Yes, we conceded two goals, but Real Madrid is used to this setback, we won and we are all very happy. "
Returning Robert Lewandowski with a 51st-minute penalty and an own own goal from Real captain Sergio Ramos in the 77th gave Munich the lead twice before they had Arturo Vidal sent off in the 84th at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But Ronaldo headed home in the 75th, made it 2-2 in the 105th and completed his hat-trick in the 108th for his 103rd continental goal overall and 100th in the elite event.
Substitute Asensio wrapped up matters in the 112th as Real reached the semis a seventh straight time and stayed on course towards becoming the first team to defend the title in the competition in its current format.
Atletico drew 1-1 at English champions Leicester City for a 2-1 aggregate win as they made the semis for the third time in four years in yet another attempt to win the elite event for the first time.
The 2014 and 2016 runners-up led from Saul Niguez and Leicester managed no more than Jamie Vardy's equaliser as the Premier League is no longer represented.
The other quarter-final return legs Monaco v Borussia Dortmund (3-2) and Barcelona v Juventus (0-3) are Wednesday, and the semi-final draw on Friday.
