As emergency services attended the deadly blast at Manchester Arena, and family and friends frantically searched for their loved ones following the Ariana Grande concert, Manchester residents opened their arms - and homes - to the victims.

The explosion left crowds stranded, so Manchester locals offered their pubs, shops and homes to strangers, under the hashtag #RoomForManchester.

People also used the hashtag to help connect parents with their children, already taken in by places like the Holiday Inn.

Some residents even did laps of the streets to make sure no one was stranded.
