Another NRL coach has taken a swipe at the media "circus" that has dominated recent rugby league headlines.
Following Sydney Roosters' 14-12 upset defeat to Canberra on Sunday, coach Trent Robinson was asked about the closeness of the competition after a number of shock results in round 23.
But the Roosters boss decided to touch on reports from recent weeks that has seen a number of coaches linked to changing clubs.
"Probably the only thing I'd like to say on the last couple of weeks in rugby league as a fan, thank God we've got the salary cap to keep the competition equal," Robinson said.
"It's been a pretty obvious circus and luckily we've got a highly talented group of rugby league players that get put under a salary cap and keep producing each weekend.
"There's a lot of stuff around the game that's been self-destructive."
Robinson's comments follow South Sydney coach Anthony Seibold's pleas after the Rabbitohs loss to Brisbane on Thursday night.
Seibold is rumoured to be in the running to succeed Broncos mentor Wayne Bennett and bail from the Rabbitohs after one year at the helm.
The Roosters missed a golden opportunity to lock away a top-two spot.
Instead of going a game clear on top of the ladder, they're not even certain to finish in the top-four with a double chance, such is the closeness of the league.
The Roosters are locked in a three-way battle at the top of the table for the minor premiership with Melbourne and South Sydney.
St George Illawarra, Penrith and Cronulla are only a game behind.
